About Course

Spectroscopy is the study of the interaction between matter and electromagnetic radiation. Spectroscopy has many applications in different fields including analytical chemistry. This course discusses theories and applications of some atomic and molecular spectroscopic techniques as spectrophotometry, Atomic Absorption spectrometry and Inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry in details.

Course Curriculum

1) Understand the theories of different spectroscopic applications.

2) Operate different spectrophotometers, Atomic Absorption spectrometers, Inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometers.

3) Choose the appropriate test method.

4) Prepare the calibration standards and samples for the analysis.

6) Calculate the final concentration results in different concentration units.

7) Interpret the results.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in a relevant scientific field. (Science, Agriculture, Pharmacy… etc)
